A place for random things I am learning

Irfanview 4.0

I recently downloaded Irfanview 4.0 after reading this review on CNET.

I was struggling to take screen shots of other websites to use on this site using the standard Microsoft Office installation. Paint, Picture Manager and the other random accessories all have their shortcomings. Paint does not handle compression or picture quality very well in my inexperienced hands while I never managed to figure out how to paste screen shots into Picture Manager. Taken together, I had to paste screen shots into Paint, save them and compress them in Picture Manager. A frustrating work flow.

Irfanview is a free program that let me paste screen shots, compress and save them seamlessly. I would happily recommend it to anyone as a simple and easy to use photo utility. See this post for an image that edited with
Irfanview.
